Barack Obama inauguration: Michelle Obama profile - Telegraph
Barack Obama inauguration: Michelle Obama profile - Telegraph: "Barack Obama inauguration: Michelle Obama profile
Back in the summer, when there was still everything to play for, Barack Obama said that if he thought his presidential candidacy would ruin his family, he wouldn't stand.
By Elizabeth Grice 9:00PM GMT 20 Jan 2009
His daughters had a wonderful life in Chicago, he added with the caution of a man hedging his bets, 'so I'm sure there's a part of them that won't be heartbroken if things don't work out'.
Barack Obama's daughters Malia and Sasha (right). Mr Obama said he wouldn't run for president if it would ruin his family life.
But his wife, Michelle, prompted by the early-morning chatter of Malia, 10, and Sasha, seven, as they crept into their parents' bed, was being pushed towards a different possibility. After months of gruelling campaigning, things were starting to 'work out' in spectacular fashion. 'We talk about Daddy being President,' she said, 'about adolescence, about the questions they have.' One of those childish questions, to which neither of the Obamas had a satisfactory answer, was: 'What is it like to live in the White House?'"

It’s Obama - Taipei Times: "STATE BY STATE
Obama tore up the US political map as he defeated John McCain, the veteran Republican senator who had struggled vainly to distance himself from US President George W. Bush’s unpopular presidency.
Obama captured states once seen as Republican strongholds, including Florida, Indiana and Virginia, while defending all traditionally Democratic states.
In addition, Ohio, Iowa, New Mexico, Colorado and Nevada — all of which went to Bush in 2004 — turned Democratic in this year’s presidential election.
Obama scored a decisive win in the electoral vote, the state-by-state tally that determines the winner. Needing 270 votes to claim the presidency, Obama had 349 to McCain’s 147, with three states still too close to call. By comparison, Bush won the White House twice and never tallied more than 286 electoral votes"

A triumphant US Democratic Senator Barack Obama vowed to be a president for all America and asked for patience to address the nation’s problems of war and finance that he called the greatest challenges of a lifetime.
The first black US president-elect cast his election as a defining moment in the country’s 232-year history and a rebuke to cynicism, fear and doubt."

Only days before President Obama delivered this year’s State of the Union speech, a startlingly grim little piece appeared in the Inter Press News Service (IPS). The article, which highlighted a newly released assessment of global climate change by the International Energy Agency (IEA), was as definitive as it was dramatic.
'The year 2010 was the hottest ever measured since the beginning of the recordings, 130 years ago,' Dr. Anders Levermann, professor of climate system dynamics at the Physics Institute of the Potsdam University told IPS. Yet, despite repeated warnings regarding the “perilous nature” of unmitigated fossil fuel consumption, the IEA’s latest science-based research found that, “unprecedented climate change has Earth hurtling down a path of catastrophic proportions.”
These findings, wrote IPS’ Julio Godoy, “have prompted leading environmental experts to warn that humankind is racing towards destruction … Disaster appears imminent.”"

The rolling blackouts now being implemented in Texas and across the country as record cold weather grips the United States are a direct consequence of the Obama administration’s agenda to lay siege to the coal industry, launch a takeover of infrastructure under the contrived global warming scam, and help usher in the post-industrial collapse of America."

Obama’s Blocking Of New Power Plants Triggers Nationwide Blackouts : Infowars Ireland: "Planned power outages conducted by utility companies have caused outrage amongst officials at four major hospitals in Texas, at Parkland, Baylor, Methodist and Presbyterian Dallas.
“Because of the sensitive life-saving equipment, hospitals are considered “critical care facilities,” and supposed to be exempt from rolling blackouts,” reports CBS 11. “That’s exactly what Presbyterian Dallas was led to believe. “We were of the understanding that hospitals and other critical-care providers were not supposed to be affected by planned outages,” said hospital spokesman Stephen O’Brien.”"
